Bar Code Scanner not reading QR codes.
I have the ZXing scanner installed on my Samsung Fascinate phone and it had been working fine up til now. It suddenly won't read QR codes, where it had been reading them fine before. I've cleaned my camera lens, but it still won't read them. I don't know if it had anything to do with a recent software update from Verizon or not. Anybody have any ideas on this?

Scanner for Book ISBN / UPC codes
I'm looking for an app to build a book database.
Goodreads seems to work, but won't scan UPC codes to find books and I'd rather not share my entire library with the cloud. The scanner shows a bright red line across the picture and does scan the ISBN codes.
I've tried MyBookDroid and Book Catalogue [Evan Leyborn] and both appear to use the Google built in scanner, which shows as a windows with Google and a circle with flashing dots. This scanner does not work. Is there some setting that needs to be changed to make the built in scanner to work?
Thanks,

New Toshiba supermarket scanner does away with need for bar codes

We all get stuck at the supermarket checkout from time to time when the assistant can’t get an item’s bar code to scan. We’re left watching in awkward silence as the flustered employee waves the item every which way, upside down, back and forth, at an angle, until they’re left literally rubbing it on the scanner in the vain hope that the machine will do us all a favor, recognize that it’s a loaf of bread and beep.

how to import the ZXing library for my app for Encoding QR codes(while there is preinstalled ZXing scanner app for my mobile)

I am trying to do an app to create a final QR code for the information of multiple barcodes
that I have scanned.
I am wondering how would you import the ZXing lib to your code?
Assume that user already has ZXing scanner in their mobile, can I just connect with the app to generate the barcode without importing all the lib since it will make my app heavy?

For importing , QRencoder.java from ZXing, what are the necessary part of codes that I need?
Or is it even possible?

Virtual Key Codes, Scan Codes and ASCII Codes in C
Not sure if this is the right board but it is in c...
Ive got a console program written in c which receives key presses and
gets a Windows Virtual key code. I am trying to convert it to the exact
ascii value the user has typed. so if shift is down it should be a
capital otherwise lower case etc.
I started with this:
void printKey(int key)
{
printf("Key: %c", key);
}
and I got all upper case (not really suprising) so then after a bit of
research and grafting I came up with this:
int vk2ascii(unsigned int vk, int *s)
{
int scan;
unsigned char state[256];

[ubuntu] can't get scanner to work on Epson stylus SX125 printer-scanner
Hi guys,
I returned to Ubuntu after 2 years of using Linux Mint. I installed 12.04 and I love it. Specially when I installed the Mate desktop, gives me a feel of 7.04 to 10.04, when I skipped to Linux Mint because of Unity.
I've got a problem I can't solve (couldn't solve it in Linux Mint either). I have a Epson stylus sx125 printer-scanner, and I just cant get the scanner to work. The printer works perfectly but the scanner doesn't. I've tried everything. Looked in LM forums, Ubuntu forums, followed the tips, tried on Epson sites, but I just cant get the scanner to work. That is why I have a copy of Windows XP on Virtualbox, just for my scanner to work. That is the only reason
